Brochure printing
Six decisions in that table, and every one of them moves the number. It is also why there is no price on this page: we would have to leave five of them out to print one.
Printed, folded and bound in this building. Nothing goes out to another firm to be finished, so the trimming and the wire are ours to answer for.
Stapled books run in fours: 4, 8, 12, 16 and up
How many pages, and how do you want it bound?
Three ways
to bind it
All our printing and finishing is done in house. Nothing waits in a queue at another firm for a week and comes back trimmed wrong.
Stapled
Saddle stitch. Sheets are folded together and stapled through the fold, so the book opens at the spine.
Pages run in multiples of fourWire bind
A metal wire comb threaded through punched holes along the edge, the finish in the photograph above.
Opens flat and stays openPerfect bind
Pages glued into a square spine, the way a paperback is put together.
Gives you a printable spineNot sure which one you want? "Not sure" is a real option on the quote form. Tell us what the book is for and roughly how thick it will be, and we will say which binding we would use.
A5 for the pocket,
A4 for the binder
A5
A5 fits a jacket pocket and a standard envelope, which is why it is the one people post and hand out at events.
A4
A4 is the handbook size. Manuals, price lists, training packs, anything that has to sit in a ring binder or on a desk without being folded.
A four page book is one folded sheet, so there are no inners to choose. "Not sure" is a real option on both the cover and the inners: say what the book is for and we will suggest a weight.
Lamination
and foil
Foil on the cover
We offer both traditional hot foil pressing and modern digital foiling, in a range of colours including classic gold and silver. Brochure covers are one of the things we foil.
Say which colour when you enquire
The fine print
How many pages can it be?
Tell us the total number of pages including the cover. That is exactly what the quote form asks for, and it is the number that decides the price along with the quantity.
Stapled books are made from folded sheets, so the page count runs in fours: 4, 8, 12, 16 and upwards. If you are not sure how your content lands, send it over and we will work it out with you.
Supplying your own artwork
Please supply artwork print ready where possible. Print ready means high resolution, 300dpi recommended, with bleed and crop marks.
We keep free artwork templates for A4 and A5 four page booklets in Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop, plus a short guide to setting a booklet up as printer's pairs. Ask and we will send them over before you start.
No artwork yet
Our designers are here. We do not just print artwork, we can create it too, from a single cover through to a full corporate rebrand.
You get a proof to check, amended proofs if you want changes, and we need written confirmation of approval before anything goes to print. See the design service
