What a bathroom actually costs
Most bathroom companies will not put a number on a page. We think that wastes everybody's evening, yours and ours. So here is what a bathroom in Telford and Shropshire actually costs, before you give anybody your phone number.
Twenty seconds
Price up your own bathroom
Four questions and you get a figure built around your room, not an average of everybody's. No email address and nothing to sign up to.

How much tiling?
Anything else? Optional, pick any
A bathroom like that, supplied and fitted, usually lands around
£0 to £0
And when could we start? How far ahead we are booked moves week to week, so we would rather tell you the real next start date than publish one that was true last month. Ring or message and you will get the actual date, before you commit to anything.
Your answers go with it, so you do not have to describe the room twice. Send a photo too and we can usually come back with a ballpark the same day. The survey is free and nothing is owed if you decide against it.
That figure is a guide based on typical bathroom costs in Telford and Shropshire, not a quote. The survey is where it becomes a fixed price, and that is free. Prices include labour, materials and waste removal.
Placeholder figures. These ranges are modelled from typical UK bathroom costs. They are replaced with Telford Bathrooms' own job figures before this site goes live on their domain.
Before you commit to anything
What you get in writing, before you spend a penny
A number on a screen is the easy part. This is what it turns into, and none of it costs you anything until you say yes.
- A free survey and a free written quoteNo charge, no obligation, and no salesperson. You get the same price whether you say yes on the day or three months later.
- A fixed price, itemisedYou can see what the suite costs and what the labour costs, separately, before anything is agreed.
- Nothing added behind your backIf we open a wall and find something nobody could have known about, we stop, show you, and price it before we carry on.
- One team, start to finishPlumbing, electrics, plastering, tiling and flooring are all ours. You are not holding three trades and a diary together.
- Insured and certifiedWe show you the certificate at the survey without being asked.
- We take the mess with usThe room is swept at the end of every day and the old bathroom leaves in our van, not into your drive.
- If something is not right, we come backYou ring the same number you rang the first time and you get the same people, not a call centre and not a ticket. Every trade in that room was ours, so there is nobody to pass you on to and nothing to argue about.
Typical ranges, supplied and fitted
Every figure below is the whole job: labour, materials, waste away and the room left clean. Not the suite on its own, and not a starting-from number with the fitting bolted on afterwards.
| Job | Typical range | Usual time |
|---|---|---|
| Small bathroom or ensuiteUp to about 6 sq m, same layout | £3,200 to £4,600 | 4 to 6 days |
| Average family bathroomNew suite, same layout, half height tiling | £4,800 to £6,800 | 5 to 8 days |
| Full wet roomTanked, laid to fall, level threshold | £6,200 to £9,000 | 7 to 10 days |
| Large room, layout movingFloor to ceiling tiling, soil pipe moving | £7,200 to £12,000 | 8 to 12 days |
| Accessible adaptationBath out, level access shower in, rails | £4,200 to £7,000 | 4 to 7 days |
| Fit onlyYou buy the suite, we fit it | From £2,100 | 4 to 7 days |
The range is the range because two identical looking bathrooms are rarely the same job. What sits behind the wall, how much tiling you want and whether the toilet moves are what put you at one end of it or the other. The survey is what turns the range into one number, and it is free.
Placeholder figures. These ranges are modelled from typical UK bathroom costs. Telford Bathrooms replace them with their own job figures before this site goes live on their domain, along with three other things only they can confirm: how far ahead they are currently booking, the workmanship period they stand behind after handover, and whether they operate the VAT zero rating on disabled adaptations. Everything else on this page is built and ready.
What moves the price
Moving the soil pipe
The single biggest one. Moving a toilet more than a short distance means lifting floors and re-running waste at the right fall.
How much tiling
Floor to ceiling can be double the tiling of half height, in materials and in labour. It also looks twice as expensive, which is rather the point.
What is behind the walls
Old lead or steel pipework, a floor that has been patched, or a wall that is nowhere near flat. We price it as we find it and show you first.
The suite you choose
The gap between a sound budget suite and a designer one is thousands. We will show you both and we do not push.
Straight answers
Questions we get asked
What do bathroom fitters charge per day?
Day rates are the wrong way to buy a bathroom. A fixed price for the whole job means the risk of it taking longer sits with us, not with you. That is how we quote every time.
When could you actually start?
Ring us and we will tell you the next slot we genuinely have, not a number off a web page. It moves week to week. What we can say is that the survey is usually within a few days of you asking, it is free, and nothing is held or owed until you say yes. If you are working to a date, a hospital discharge or a house move, say so on the phone and we will tell you straight away whether we can hit it.
Is the quote fixed?
Yes, for everything we can see at the survey. If we open a wall and find something nobody could have known about, we stop, show you and price it before carrying on.
What happens if something goes wrong after you have finished?
You ring the same number you rang the first time and you get the same people, not a call centre and not a ticket. Every trade in that room was ours, so there is nobody to pass you on to and no argument between trades to sit through. Ask us at the survey what we stand behind and for how long, and we will write it on the quote rather than leave you to find it in small print afterwards.
Do you ask for a deposit?
There is normally a deposit against materials, then staged payments, with the balance on completion. It is all written on the quote before you agree to anything.
Do you offer finance?
Ask us. If it is the difference between doing the job and not doing it, we would rather have the conversation than lose you to a company that will.
