Real numbers · £99 to own it · no quote form
Website design prices: £99 and it's yours.
Most designers make you fill in a form to find out if you can afford them, then hit you with a big lump sum. I do it the other way round. You see your website free first, pay £99 to own it, then £149 a month keeps it hosted, secure, fast and looked after, cancel any time. Or want it managed from day one? Then it's just £149 a month straight up, no £99, and we get going. That's the whole price, on this page.

What a website actually costs in the UK
Nobody publishes this, so here it is honestly. These are the going rates, not my opinion of them, and it's why paying monthly usually works out better for a small business.
| Option | Real cost | The catch |
|---|---|---|
| DIY builder | £10 to £17 a month, forever | You do all the work. Most owners burn 40+ hours and it still looks like a template. And it's never really looked after, it's looked after by you. |
| Cheap marketplace | £50 to £300 one-off | A template filled in by someone who's never seen your town, then left. Every change is a new gig, and there's nobody to ring when it breaks. |
| This studio | £99 to own it | You see the finished site free before you pay. Just £99 and it's yours. Optional £149 a month to have a real person keep it fast, found and changed for you, or self-host. No lock-in. |
| Freelancer, one-off | £900 to £3,000 up front | You pay first and hope. Then it's built and left, and every future change is another invoice, if you can still get hold of them. |
| Agency | £2,500 to £5,000+, then a retainer | A big bill up front and you're also paying for the office and the account manager. Small jobs get junior attention. |
£99 to own it, then it's your call
For £99, the finished website is yours to keep, on your own domain, files and all. What you do next is up to you. You can take the £149 a month and never think about it again: I host it, keep it fast and found on Google, and change it the moment your business changes. Or you can host it yourself and handle your own updates. A website that gets built once and left alone quietly rots, so most people take the plan, but it's genuinely your choice, and either way the site is yours.
Is £149 a month worth it?
Do the sum for your own trade. If a single extra job a month is worth more than £149 to you, the site pays for itself and everything after is profit. A developer charges £40 to £75 an hour for one-off changes, so a couple of small tweaks a month covers the plan on their own, and you get hosting, security, SEO, speed and out-of-hours cover for nothing on top. And unlike every other option, you see the finished site free before a penny moves.
Straight answers
The money questions.
How much does a website cost?
There's no big lump sum. I build a working demo of your site first, for free, so you only pay once you've seen it and love it. Then it's £99 to own it, and £149 a month for everything after: hosting, security, unlimited changes done for you, your SEO and speed kept up to date, and out-of-hours cover. No contract, cancel any time.
Can I skip the £99 and go straight to the monthly plan?
Yes. If you'd rather have it all handled from day one, it's simply £149 a month straight up and we get going: the build, hosting, unlimited changes, SEO and support are all included, with no £99 to pay. You still see your free demo first, and you can cancel any time.
Do you have to pay monthly for a website?
No. Pay the one-off £99 and the website is yours to keep, on your own domain, files and all. The £149 a month is completely optional, it's the hands-off way to have me host it, keep it fast and found on Google, and change it whenever you need. Prefer to self-host and handle your own updates? That's fine, you own it either way.
What does the £149 a month include?
Everything that keeps the site working and earning: hosting, domain and SSL security, backups and monitoring, unlimited changes done for you (usually same day), your SEO and AI-search visibility kept up to date, your speed kept high, priority support straight to me, and out-of-hours cover if it ever goes down. Full detail on the plan page.
Is there a contract or minimum term?
No contract and no minimum term. Cancel any time. The £149 a month is the live service, so it only carries on while it's worth it to you.
What happens if I cancel?
The live site stops, because hosting and care are part of the plan, but your code is always yours to take anywhere. No hostage situations, no exit fees. Nobody holds your website to ransom.
How does this compare to Wix or a cheap freelancer?
A DIY builder like Wix is £10 to £17 a month but you do all the work, forever, and it looks like a template. A cheap one-off freelancer site is built once and left, with every future change a new bill. My £149 a month is a real person looking after a professionally built site: fast, found on Google, and changed for you the same day. You see the finished site free before you decide. That's the free demo.

You've got the numbers. The only thing left is whether the site is any good, and you can find that out for nothing.
