Web design in Shropshire.

Web design · Shropshire

Shropshire is England's largest inland county, and I cover the lot from my desk in Telford. That means a genuinely local designer who knows the county's market towns, and a full working website built free before you pay a penny. Love it, and it is £149 a month with a three month minimum, £447 in total, hosted and looked after.

One designer for the whole county

I'm based in Telford and I cover the whole of Shropshire from here. I'm not an agency in another city passing you round a team you'll never meet: it's me, start to finish. If you're in or around Telford I'll happily come to you, photograph the premises, walk the shop floor, or plan the whole thing out over a coffee. Further out, towards Oswestry, Ludlow or Whitchurch, I work remotely just as well, and most of the build happens over WhatsApp and email anyway.

That matters here more than most places. Shropshire is largely rural, and too much of its web design gets sold in from cities miles away by people who couldn't point to Much Wenlock on a map. I'd rather be the local option: someone who knows the county, replies the same day, and can actually turn up.

Built for how Shropshire trades

This is a county defined by its market towns, and each one trades in its own way. Shrewsbury, the county town, with its independents; Telford, the largest town and my home patch; Oswestry, Bridgnorth, Market Drayton, Whitchurch, Church Stretton, Much Wenlock, and Ludlow with its famous food scene. The economy runs on farming, tourism, independent shops, trades and small family businesses, and a good website should carry that character rather than flatten it into something that could be anywhere.

It's also a county people come to visit. The Shropshire Hills are a designated National Landscape, and the Ironbridge Gorge is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which means walkers, food lovers and day-trippers arriving with a phone in hand and no idea yet who to trust. So a Shropshire business site has two jobs at once: earn the trust of the locals who already know you, and catch the visitor searching from a lay-by or a tearoom. Build for both, and the website starts pulling its weight.

I build these for Shropshire businesses

Have a browse through the work and you'll find the portfolio is full of Shropshire businesses, from high street independents to trades and places to stay, each site art-directed around the business rather than dropped in from a shelf. Whatever you do, and wherever in the county you do it, the approach is the same.

What you get

The five things every build gets, and the five things people expect to be charged extra for and are not.

  • Art-directed around your business, not a swapped-out template
  • Mobile-first, tested at a true 390px phone width where most of your customers actually look
  • Technical SEO built in, so you show up when Shropshire searches for what you do
  • Google Business Profile help so you earn your place in the local map pack, whichever town you're in
  • The files are 100% yours to keep after the three month minimum, never a rented template

Not an extra

  • Hosting
  • Security and certificates
  • Unlimited changes while you are on the plan
  • Technical SEO and speed work
  • Out of hours cover if it goes down

Three ways to get a website in Shropshire.

I have left everyone else's prices out, because I do not know what they would quote you. What is in the table is what is structurally true of each route, whoever you buy it from.

Shropshire questions, answered.

Do you cover the whole of Shropshire?

Yes. I'm based in Telford and I work with businesses right across the county: Shrewsbury, Oswestry, Ludlow, Bridgnorth, Market Drayton, Whitchurch and everywhere in between. I meet in person where practical and work remotely where it isn't, and the build is exactly the same either way.

Can we meet in person?

Where practical, happily. If you're in or around Telford I can usually be with you the same week to talk it through and photograph the premises. Further out in the county I'll still come where I can, and otherwise we do it over WhatsApp, email and calls, which is how most of the build happens anyway.

How much does a website cost?

Pay monthly. It is £149 a month with a three month minimum, £447 in total, agreed up front. I build a working demo of your site first, for free, so you only pay once you've seen it. If you'd like me to keep it updated afterwards, the £149 a month keeps it all looked after.

Is there a minimum term?

Yes. If you'd rather have it all handled from day one, it's simply £149 a month straight up and we get going: the build, hosting, unlimited changes, SEO and support are all included. You still see your free demo first, and you can cancel any time after the first three months.

Will my Shropshire business get found on Google?

That's the aim. Every site includes technical SEO, and I'll help set up your Google Business Profile and reviews, which is what feeds the local map pack when someone nearby searches. I'll always be honest that local ranking builds over weeks, it isn't an overnight switch.
