The problem.

Listing a used car properly means typing the same information twice: once off the logbook and once off the MOT record. Make, model, engine size, fuel, colour, first registration, MOT expiry. Do that for every car that lands on the forecourt and stock goes up slowly, or it goes up wrong.

Slow, inconsistent listings are not a cosmetic problem for a dealer. A car that is not online is not selling.

What was built.

Photograph, do not type

The owner takes a couple of photos on his phone. An AI vision model reads them and fills the listing in. He checks it, adds the description, publishes.

Official data, not guesses

The registration is looked up against the government MOT history record, so the vehicle details and MOT expiry come from the authoritative source rather than from someone reading a logbook at speed.

One database, three surfaces

Publishing updates the public site, its search listings and the owner's dashboard at once, because they all read the same live database rather than a file that has to be re-uploaded.

A dashboard that installs to the phone

Stock management from the forecourt, not from a desk.

The parts you do not see.

The engineering that decides whether a system like this is trustworthy.

  • The AI scan runs on the server with credentials minted per request, so no key is ever exposed in the browser.
  • The MOT lookup is key-gated and fails silently if unavailable, so a third-party outage can never block a listing going live.
  • Owner authentication is real account-based access with row-level database security, not a shared password.
What the owner logs into: Stock dashboard with photo-scan import, per-car editing, publish control. Screens from the admin side are not shown here, because they contain real customer information. Ask and I will walk you through a working version with the data replaced.

All of this sits inside the plan.

The site is built free first. You see it working before you pay a penny. Then it is £99 to own it outright, or £149 a month fully managed from day one with no £99 at all. Ongoing work like the systems above is part of the monthly plan, not a separate invoice.
